:Mitch: R. - The Human Being

Biography

I come from the mountains of appalachia and was raised by my grandmother (who happened to be a very well learned teacher) teaching me anything I wanted to know and pushing me to learn more. I spent a lot of my time reading, learning, in the woods hiking & adventuring, or in the local ponds, creeks & rivers, swimming & fishing. We ddn't watch much television because we could only receive two channels where we were located.

I started to learn about computing with Atari and Commodores. Beginning In middle school, I acquainted with the Apple IIe(s) that my school had recently acquired and was fascinated with them. Although in those days, computers were quite a new invention to everyone, so you had to learn as you went, sometimes teaching the teachers!

As for my passion of riding motorcycles it all started when I got my first bicycle. I took to stunting and jumping it almost immediately just because i thought it was fun, so it was just natural that I bought a motorcycle (Yamaha SRX-250) first instead of a car when I (mistakenly & blindly) got a license. It was all I had for tranportation so I learned to ride on the ice and snow in the winter! It wasn't long before I had moved up to the Yamaha FZR machines and started learning how to carve corners and stunt, tearing around the corners of Gauley & Sewell mountains, with a few learning crashes tossed in for good measure here and there.

I joined the military at age 17 and after training went overseas. This gave me the opportunity to ride some awesome european roads and sightsee a little, but most of my time was performing my military duties, although I did manage to total an FZR there, too! Given the oportunity to use the newer Windows 3.1 and 95 OS based machines, I jumped at any chance to use them and learn. I came back into the US in 1992 to help train Combat Engineers at the National Training Center in CA for the Army & Marines and hit the beautiful canyons and mountain passes of the high desert and the pacific coast on the then new Yamaha YZF machines.

After leaving the army I rode in the midwest (solo and with a few groups) for a few years until again I had to set aside my passion after entrepreneurial startups. When I returned home to WV, I was helping a friend with the (leisurely) restoration of Mopars, heavy equipment operation and construction, which gave me some time once again for my set aside love of riding, and to continue educating myself on computers, but by this time I had moved on from OS's and was well on my way with the different languages like HTML, CSS, Java, PHP, etc..

These days I am into living my life as a competent American, riding & stunting sportbikes, learning, and being Systems Administrator/Webmaster for Underground Worx Companies & the Moving Violationz Group, having simple fun, and traveling when I get the chance!
